The Brewers Community Foundation and WaterStone Bank are teaming up to raise funds for the Sojourner Family Peace Center through an in-stadium promotion titled “WaterStone Bank’s K’s for a Cause.”

WaterStone Bank will serve as the title sponsor for the promotion, in which both the bank and the foundation will make a donation to the Sojourner Family Peace Center for every strikeout completed by a Brewers pitcher at Miller Park during the 2014 season.

“We have had a longstanding partnership with Sojourner Family Peace Center,” said Cecelia Gore, executive director of the Brewers Community Foundation, which is the philanthropic arm of the Brewers. “The work they do for families is critical to the wellbeing of our community. We are thrilled to partner with WaterStone Bank. This effort increases the impact we can have to improve the quality of life for others.”

The Sojourner Family Peace Center, a Milwaukee-based nonprofit, provides support and resources to victims of family violence as well as services related to prevention and intervention.

Through the new promotion, the center’s logo and WaterStone Bank’s logo will be displayed on the “strikeout meter” sign at Miller Park, positioned in right field. The sign will highlight the total number of strikeouts by Brewers pitchers during home games.

Later this year, staff members from the bank and the Brewers Community Foundation along with a Brewers pitcher will visit the Sojourner Family Peace Center to see their dollars at work.

“It is an honor to partner with Brewers Community Foundation to continue our relationship with the Sojourner Family Peace Center,” said Doug Gordon, president and chief executive officer of WaterStone Bank. “We appreciate the significant contributions they each make to our community.”
