Lawn Lake Resort

Lake Lawn Resort, Delavan, recently hired Milwaukee-based Ellingsen Brady Advertising to assist with helping the resort manage its external marketing communications ranging from a complete public relations campaign to advertising and collateral strategy and design. In late 2008, the agency was officially hired as agency of record, overseeing a new public relations campaign and additional advertising, interactive and collateral projects.

Ruekert/Mielke, Waukesha, recently announced that the firm has joined Concord, N.H-based VUEWorks, Inc. in its channel partner program. Ruekert/Mielke will provide sales, implementation, training, and ASP web hosting services for VUEWorks GIS-integrated asset management solutions to municipal and utility clients throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. As a municipal civil engineering consultant, RM has provided GIS consulting services to municipalities for more than 20 years. The company researched numerous asset management software solutions before selecting VUEWorks, a GIS-integrated, web-based solution that offered advanced asset management capabilities.

Medical College of Wisconsin

The Medical College of Wisconsin, Wauwatosa, recently received a five-year, $1.5 million grant from the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Mental Health to investigate the molecular mechanism of higher cognitive brain function and its associated disorders, such as autism, schizophrenia, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. This study will examine the role played by the protein GKAP (guanylate kinase-associated protein). GKAP allows for rapid synaptic signaling between brain cells that affect neurological function and diseases. Sang Lee, Ph.D., assistant professor of pharmacology and toxicology, is the principal investigator for the grant.

Waymar Orthopedic Technologies, Inc

Waymar Orthopedic Technologies, Inc., a Mequon-based distributor of specialty orthopedic products, recently retained PKA Marketing, Mequon, to create new branding and corporate identity materials. PKA will develop a new logo and brand identity, which will be incorporated into all of Waymar’s promotional and corporate materials, including signage, web/interactive, literature, business cards and letterhead. Waymar Orthopedic Technologies distributes orthopedic products in Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Zizzo Group Advertising and Public Relations

Zizzo Group Advertising and Public Relations, Milwaukee, recently announced that it has been selected as the agency of record and official marketing sponsor for UPAF, the United Performing Arts Fund. UPAF raises and allocates funds to more than 36 performing arts groups throughout southeastern Wisconsin through annual, community-wide campaigns. Zizzo Group is working with UPAF to develop breakthrough materials for this year’s Annual Campaign and position UPAF for the future, including new material on its web site, www.UPAF.org. The firm will also develop marketing materials for the 2009 Miller Lite Ride for the Arts, UPAF’s biggest fundraising event. Zizzo Group is donating a significant amount of resources to these campaigns as a part of its nonprofit practice.

Treetops Landscape Design, Inc.

Treetops Landscape Design, Grafton, was recently honored with an Award of Excellence for commercial landscape design and construction presented by the Wisconsin Landscape Contractors Association.
