Alto-Shaam to expand

Learn more about:

Menomonee Falls-based Alto-Shaam Inc., a manufacturer of commercial food service equipment, plans to expand by adding a 20,000-square-foot addition that will connect a 100,000-square-foot building and a 140,000-square-foot building at W164 N9221 Water St., Menomonee Falls.

“They’re trying to get more efficient right now,” said Matt Carran, director of community development for the Village of Menomonee Falls. “They’re having to cart things back and forth and run between the two buildings. This will put everything together.”

The company is also considering future expansion plans including a welcome center that could be added to the new space and a 4.5 acre site south of the property, currently occupied by the village’s Department of Public Works. The village is considering plans to move the public works facility and the company has expressed interest in buying the property if it becomes available, Carran said. The site could accommodate a building of up to 100,000 square feet, he said.

The company currently has about 300 employees and could add another 110 if all of the expansion plans come to fruition, Carran said.
