80-unit apartment complex proposed for Prospect Avenue

Organizations:

Milwaukee-based Joseph Property Development, LLC is proposing a six-story mixed-use building at the former Qdoba restaurant at the corner of North Prospect Avenue and East Ivanhoe Place.

The building would include 9,000-square-feet of retail on the first floor and an 80-unit apartment building on five floors.

The East Side Architectural Review Board will vote on the project Friday. If approved, Joseph plans on beginning construction immediately for a spring 2017 opening.

“We’re excited about it and believe strongly in the location,” said developer Robert Joseph. “This is a very pedestrian friendly area with neighborhood conveniences and a first-rate site for a Class A apartment building.”

This would be the third project in the neighborhood for Joseph, who redeveloped the Prospect Mall property, 2217 N. Prospect Ave., into a 52-unit apartment building called The Overlook on Prospect. Joseph’s other project is Edge on North apartments, at the former Pizza Man restaurant, 1800 E. North Ave.

Rinka Chung Architecture is designing the project.
