World Class Wire and Cable

World Class Wire and Cable Inc. (WCWC) of Waukesha was founded about 14 years ago by James Lindenberg, whose background provided him with extensive knowledge of the wire and cable industry.

At that time, Lindenberg recognized the need for a value-added manufacturer that could offer the service of a just-in-time distributor with competitive rate pricing, and he acted on that insight.

“We created a stocking, value-added manufacturing and exporting company of electrical/electronic wire, cable and tubing, and offer the services, and benefits of quick response time,” he said.

WCWC incorporated back in 1994, and the ensuing years saw the company expand to serve a wider range of customers. In 2002, the firm opened its first branch in Columbia City, Ind., and opened another location in Grand Prairie, Texas,  three years later.

In 2003, WCWC acquired Spectro Wire of Sanford, Fla., and three years later combined all of their warehousing into one huge plant in Waukesha.

“Our continued success needed a building with double the production capability,” Lindenberg said. “In addition, we’ve been honored by winning numerous awards due to our continuing growth and accomplishment.”

In 2007, WCWC generated $57 million in sales.

According to Lindenberg, the substantial growth and innovations of his company prove the value of its customer service and product mix.

The company recently created an innovative product called Drumbox, which is revolutionizing the way wire and cable is shipped and unspooled.

“We worked with a box manufacturer to develop that innovation. The box is lighter weight, so it can be carried easily from workstation to workstation. And the wire in it is not coiled too tightly, which makes it easier to unspool,” Lindenberg said.

“We encourage, promote, and solicit customer and supplier feedback for our continued improvement and expansion,” said Russell Roering of WCWC, who nominated the company for the IQ Award.  “At least once a year we strive to develop innovative new products and services. Our goal of total customer satisfaction is paramount.”
