Weyco buys building adjacent to HQ

Glendale-based Weyco Group Inc. recently purchased an 80,150-square-foot warehouse building, adjacent to its headquarters, for $3.8 million.

The building, located at 330 W. Olive St. in Glendale, was sold by Clarion Partners, which was represented by Tom Shepherd, Jim Larkin and Mike Fardy of Inland Companies.

The building is located just south of Weyco Group’s headquarters at 333 W. Estabrook Blvd. Earlier this year Weyco Group completed a 52,000-square-foot mezzanine expansion of its headquarters. Weyco is a distributor of men’s dress and casual shoes. Earlier this year, the company acquired The Combs Company, and the space at its headquarters was insufficient to store new product from Combs.

The Olive Street building is vacant and was most recently occupied by Bentley Corp. and Pentair on short-term leases, Shepherd said.

A spokesperson for Weyco Group could not be reached for comment. The company is publicly held and its stock is traded on the Nasdaq exchange.
