Village Hall and plaza project begins in Belgium

A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday to celebrate the start of construction for a new Belgium Village Hall and the Grand Duke Henri Plaza, both part of the New Luxembourg development in Belgium, in northern Ozaukee County.

Port Washington-based Ansay Development Corp. is the developer for the 150-acre New Luxembourg project, which will include residential, commercial and civic and cultural components. The project includes the Luxembourg American Cultural Center, which opened in 2009.

The second phase of the New Luxembourg project includes the creation of the Village Square, including the Grand Duke Henri Plaza, which will have a splash pad, sculpture and rose garden.
The new Village Hall will be built adjacent to the Luxembourg American Cultural Center at 100 Peter Thein Ave.
