Tricast hires new executive to oversee operations and product development

Wauwatosa consulting firm undergoing period of expansion

Tricast, a health care consulting firm in Wauwatosa that monitors and analyzes pharmacy benefit data, has hired a new executive to serve as both chief information officer and chief operations officer.

Erik Weber, who worked at GE Healthcare before founding his own local consulting company, will oversee the Tricast’s efforts to increase the scale of its product development and manage operations.

“We are thrilled to welcome Erik to the team during this exciting period of company expansion,” said Greg Rucinski, president and chief executive officer of Tricast. “His expertise in enterprise transformation, leadership and agile frameworks will be invaluable as we continue to grow our team and bring new solutions to market.”

Weber has a bachelor’s degree in biocomputer engineering from Marquette University.

In March, Tricast announced it had formed a board of directors to guide it through a period of rapid expansion.

The company has been aggressively hiring software developers at its headquarters at 10400 W. Innovation Drive in the Milwaukee County Research Park to work on a new software program it developed to help insurance companies track pharmaceutical fraud. Algorithms written by Tricast developers find irregularities in pharmaceutical claims —fraudulent prescriptions getting filled or patients receiving the wrong type and amount of certain drugs — and flag them for insurance companies.

In February, the company released a statement that said it experienced a surge in demand from benefit providers over the last two quarters of 2015.
