Learn more about:

The Marcus Corporation, headquartered in Milwaukee, has donated $583,941 to the United Way of Greater Milwaukee in honor of Steve Marcus’ 50th anniversary with the company and the company’s 50-year mark of owning The Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee.

Marcus serves as chairman of the board of The Marcus Corporation. He previously served as president and chief executive officer of the company.

The Marcus Corporation awarded the gift of money at a “50 Years of Hospitality” gala event held at The Pfister Hotel on Dec. 6.

“My father’s first job with The Marcus Corporation was running The Pfister Hotel when my grandfather purchased it out of bankruptcy in 1962,” said Gregory Marcus, current president and chief executive officer of The Marcus Corporation and co-chair of the United Way of Greater Milwaukee annual Community Campaign. “So you really can’t talk about one without the other. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate both events than with a gift to the United Way of Greater Milwaukee.”
