RedPrairie Corp.

Speedway SuperAmerica LLC (SSA), owned and operated by Marathon Oil Corp., Houston, selected Retail Productivity Solutions, formerly BlueCube Software, from RedPrairie Corp., Waukesha, for back office components of the BlueCube Enterprise Solution for petroleum and convenience stores. SSA has more than 1,600 stores.

RedPrairie’s BlueCube Enterprise 6.2 received the Microsoft European Retail Application Developer (RAD) award for best store system. The RAD awards recognize independent software vendors and retailer information technology (IT) departments that demonstrate innovation and deliver business value using technologies from Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Wash. in the retail sector. BlueCube Enterprise is a Web-based application, a .NET solution that is centrally deployed and managed. It relies on Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Advanced Server technology.

E.J. Pope & Son Inc., doing business as Handy Mart, Mount Olive, N.C., purchased RedPrairie’s BlueCube Enterprise Software for mid-sized convenience store retailers. Handy Mart will implement the supply chain management, financial management, learning management, time and attendance and scheduling solutions in 43 locations.

RedPrairie entered a strategic integration partnership with Voxware Inc., Lawrenceville, N.J. RedPrairie will integrate its warehouse management system (WMS) with Voxware’s voice solution. RedPrairie will resell Voxware’s open voice software product for the supply chain, which is built on recognized standards including service-oriented architecture (SOA) and VoiceXML. Voxware’s voice solution is certified on mobile devices from multiple manufacturers, including devices with multi-modal functionality. This allows companies to leverage existing hardware vendor relationships and obtain greater value from their hardware investments.

Publix Super Markets Inc., Lakeland, Fla., selected RedPrairie’s BlueCube Workforce Optimization suite. The solution will be used in 900 locations and includes time and attendance, business forecasting, labor demand planning, automated optimized scheduling, associate self service, dashboards with configurable alerts and computer based training.

Trissential Inc.

Trissential Inc., Minneapolis, launched Projecy, a framework for helping project and portfolio management improve operations of the project management body of knowledge (PMBOK). The Projecy framework aligns project and portfolio management tools and techniques to the 44 processes under PMBOK’s five stages of a project, including initiation, planning, execution, control and close. The Projecy framework raises project management maturity, improving implementation, lowering rework, enhancing communication, and enabling delivery of projects on time and within budget. Projecy can be purchased as a stand alone product or in conjunction with a Trissential maturity assessment, planning and improvement engagement.

Metrix LLC

Metrix LLC, Waukesha, launched Metrix 5, the first 100 percent SOA software application built on the Microsoft .NET 3.0 platform. Metrix 5 is a Web-based solution for streamlining customer service, field service, parts inventory, service contracts, product warranty, repair and reverse logistics management. Features include: intelligent data filtering to decrease searching; drag-and-drop schedule board with advanced color management; comprehensive summary reviews; sub-second scrolling through records via keyboard; real-time field service scheduling and route optimization; Windows Vista look and feel with 3-D controls and images; process-driven UI requires, which less clicks and minimal user training and enhanced workflow and service pricing engines.
