Support builds for financial reforms

Vice President Joe Biden and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner brought the White House’s road show for financial reform to Milwaukee this week.
Speaking at a Middle Class Task Force Town Hall Meeting at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Tuesday, Biden said, “Never again should the government bail out a bank or watch the economy implode.”

Financial reform was a timely and prominent issue in the Milwaukee Biz Blog this week. Jim MacPhee, chief executive officer of Kalamazoo County State Bank in Schoolcraft, Mich., is the chairman of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), and he said America’s community banks are favor of strong reforms.
