Summerfest holds admission prices steady, raises beer prices

Officials at Milwaukee World Festival, Inc., has announced that admission prices for Summerfest will remain steady for the fifth straight year, but increases on select alcoholic beverages will take effect. 
Admission tickets will remain at $15 for general admission tickets with a less expensive $8 weekday ticket available as well if guests enter the gates prior to 4 p.m.
Discounted admission tickets are available before May 1 at www.summerfest.com; and the festival has also committed to making free or discounted admission tickets available through additional promotions every day of the 11-day festival.
This year, World Festival Inc., has made significant improvements to the Summerfest Grounds, and has also experienced a 9 percent increase in expenses for more entertainers.
New beer pricing for 2011 will be $5.00 for a 16 ounce cup of draft beer, which was previously $4.50 and $6.50 for a 16 ounce bottle of beer, previously $6.00. 
Summerfest 2011 will take place June 29 through July 3 and July 5 through July 10, from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. daily.
