State seeks Marketplace Governor’s Awards applicants

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. is seeking nominations for the 2014 Marketplace Governor’s Awards, which honor minority, woman and service-disabled veteran business owners.

 

The awards will include “The Outstanding Business Award” for established businesses that have demonstrated the capacity to grow over the past five years and have plans to expand in the future. And “The Rising Star Award” for newer businesses that have strong growth potential.

Winners will be recognized at Marketplace 2014, the Governor’s Conference on Minority Business Development, on Oct. 22 and 23 at Potawatomi Expo Center in Milwaukee. Finalists will be profiled in the event program and website, receive four complimentary passes to the conference, and gain discounts on exhibit space and event sponsorship.

Wisconsin-based companies with MBE, WBE or DVB status qualify for the awards. The deadline to nominate a company is Friday, Sept. 12. More information is available at MarketplaceWisconsin.com.
