Wisconsin companies that have achieved success in exporting are encouraged to apply for the 2015 Governor’s Export Achievement Award.
Administered by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, the award recognizes businesses and organizations that have achieved extraordinary results in international markets or have contributed to the state’s ability to compete in the global economy.
Any agricultural, forestry, industrial, high-tech or service enterprise successfully engaging in or assisting in exporting Wisconsin-origin products or services is eligible for nomination. To apply, companies should visit inwisconsin.com/exportawards and describe—in 250 words or less—recent exporting accomplishments.
The submission should focus on a company’s measurable export growth, innovative approaches that set the business apart from other exporters, and any significant contributions that benefit the overall state economy and trade development in Wisconsin.
The deadline for the initial submission is Friday, Jan. 30 at 5 p.m. Company employees or those with knowledge of a deserving company can also submit an award nomination for consideration.
A panel of international trade experts will review all submissions and select a group of semifinalists who will move on to the next stage of the competition where they will be asked to submit a more detailed application.
“As more Wisconsin companies are starting to export their goods and services as a way to increase sales and expand markets, we are eager to celebrate their successes through this award program,” said Katy Sinnott, WEDC’s vice president of International Business Development.
Award winners will be recognized at the annual Wisconsin International Trade Conference in Milwaukee on Thursday, May 7. Winners will receive recognition at the event, a custom video about their company’s exporting efforts and a trophy.
