Startup Milwaukee has created a summer internship program to connect college students with area startup companies focused on technology.
More than 25 startups have stepped forward to offer internship opportunities for students in web development, mobile development, design, sales and marketing. Startup accelerator programs Gener8tor and Vetransfer are collaborating with Startup Milwaukee to recruit their portfolio companies for the summer initiative.
Participating college students will be paid and will also receive credit for their internship experience.
“The Startup Internship program is core to our strategy of attracting and retaining young entrepreneurial talent in Milwaukee,” said Matt Cordio, co-founder and chief instigator at Startup Milwaukee and co-founder and chief executive officer of Skills Pipeline.
Interested students can apply for an internship at http://startupmke.org/intern.
Startup Milwaukee serves local technology-based entrepreneurs with meetups, workshops and networking events. The initiative is driven to promote Milwaukee as a viable city for the development of technology startups.
