Smoke Shack, Pete’s Pops among new concession items at Miller Park this year

Organizations:

Concession stands at Miller Park this season will feature a handful of new foods and beverages as the Brewers on Thursday, just days ahead of the team’s March 28 opening day, announced a variety of additions to the stadium’s menu.

The Smoke Shack BBQ chicken sandwich.

New food items include a BBQ chicken sandwich from Milwaukee-based Smoke Shack, a Wisconsin cheese steak sandwich and two variations of cheese fries, both made with Plymouth-based Sargento cheese.

On the sweeter side, Milwaukee-based Pete’s Pops this year will join the stadium’s concession lineup, selling a rotating selection of its freshly made popsicles, including chocolate, Arnold Palmer and blueberry basil lemonade flavors.

In addition, Milwaukee-based Sprecher Brewing Co. will introduce Sprecher Freezer Brews, a new frozen, spiked treat available in multiple flavors.

For fans craving alternatives to traditional ballpark fare this season, the Brewers have also unveiled a few new vegetarian and gluten free items.

Elote en Vaso, which is both vegetarian and gluten-free, includes grilled corn tossed in mayonnaise, chili powder, cilantro, lime juice and jalapeno. A vegetarian fried BBQ corn is served on the cob and drizzled with BBQ seasoning and horseradish sauce. The loaded pork tamale is topped with queso blanco, house made pico de gallo and chipotle sauce.

The new Belgium-style pearl sugar waffle is also a vegetarian option. That dish joins Bernie’s Bavarian pretzel as new items offered at Bernie’s Chalet this year.
