Sensient reports record quarter

Milwaukee-based Sensient Technologies Corp. reported new first quarter records for revenue, operating income and earnings per share.

The global manufacturer and marketer of colors, flavors and fragrances reported quarterly operating income of $46.5 million, or 58 cents per share, up from $43.6 million, or 53 cents per share, in the same period a year ago.
The company’s quarterly revenue increased to $365.7 million from $349.7 million a year earlier.
“The company continues to perform very well,” said Kenneth Manning, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Sensient. “We achieved solid revenue and operating profit growth during the first quarter and we expect to sustain this level of growth, in local currency terms, for the rest of the year. We continue to see opportunities for growth, and I remain very optimistic about the company’s future.”
