Sanborn Tube Sales, Inc. was acquired by
Russel Metals Inc., a Toronto-based metal distributor.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Sanborn Tube Sales is a custom manufacturer, distributor and manufacturer’s rep for tubing, aluminum extrusions and fabricated parts. The company, founded in 1957, generated annual sales of approximately $19 million across a diverse base of industrial customers over the past several years.
Sanborn’s headquarters is in close proximity to three Wisconsin-based Russel Metals service centers, which gives the Toronto company an opportunity for combined business and to expand product offering, according to a press release.
“I am pleased to welcome the Sanborn employees to the Russel Metals family and look forward to further advancing our valued-added strategic initiatives in 20201,” Russel Metals chief executive office John Reid said in a statement.
Russel Metals’ network of metal service centers carry metal products in a wide range of sizes, shapes and specifications, including carbon hot rolled and cold finished steel, pipe and tubular products, stainless steel, aluminum and other non-ferrous specialty metals.
Russel Metals has multiple locations across North America. Its three Wisconsin-based locations are in Milwaukee, Appleton and Green Bay.
