Rudd Lighting plans to add 469 new full-time jobs with a $24.5 million, 208,000-square-foot expansion of its headquarters and production facility in Sturtevant. The current facility, located at 9201 Washington Ave., has 500,000 square feet of space.
The expansion project was first announced in April.
But this week the company announced that it would create 469 jobs with the expansion project. The company already has about 750 employees.
In August, Durham, N.C.-based Cree Inc. acquired Ruud for $525 million. Ruud is now a subsidiary of Cree.
Gov. Scott Walker announced that the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. will provide up to $3.275 million in job tax credits and $725,000 in economic development tax credits to Cree for the project.
