R&R Insurance Expands Office Space

R&R Insurance Services Inc., recently completed its expansion project, building a new 9,200-square-foot, two-story addition to its facility at 1581 E. Racine Ave., Waukesha. R&R executives declined to disclose the cost of the project.

The addition was designed by Wellman Architects Inc. of Waukesha, and its general contractor was Van Horn Construction Inc. of Pewaukee. Design work started on the project in early 2004. Work continues on the site, with final landscaping and exterior finishes expected to be done by the end of summer, Catalano said.

The company’s personal lines department had to be relocated to a nearby building in 2001 because the company was out of space, said R&R president Ken Riesch. The personal lines department has moved to the first floor of the addition.

"The additional space allows us the opportunity to expand the resources we offer under one roof," Riesch said. "The expansion allows us to grow our employee group benefits division as well as our resource center, accounting and administrative functions. In fact, since the completion, we have added an account executive in the employee group benefits division and a loss control specialist to our resource center. We are also currently in negotiations to hire additional support for our marketing communications department."

One of the benefits of the addition is that its basement gives R&R the ability to store documents in one secure space. Previously, documents were stored in closets, vacant offices and cubicles and rented off-site storage facilities, said Traci Catalano, marketing communications manager of R&R.

The company’s IT and accounting departments were able to expand on the first floor of the original building, Catalano said. There are about 100 employees working in the company’s Waukesha facility. Another 20 employees work at the firm’s satellite offices in West Bend and Fort Atkinson.
