Roundy’s Foundation to donate food, funds to area pantries

Organizations:

Roundy’s Foundation’s Focused on Feeding Families Tour will make a stop in Milwaukee today to distribute food and financial donations totaling close to $25,000 among six area food panties.

Milwaukee is one of 13 cities in Wisconsin and Illinois that the tour is visiting over its five-day run.

The tour will stop at Pick ‘n Save’s Greenfield store at 4279 S. 76th St., where Pick ‘n Save staff members will help unload 15,000 pounds of food from a semi-truck and give it away to pantry representatives onsite. Those representatives will also take home a check from Roundy’s Foundation.

Once complete, the tour will have donated more than $250,000 in food and funds to 60 food panties. Each pantry will be awarded a package valued at more than $4,100.

Area food panties that will benefit from the tour are: Redeemer Evangelical Free Church Food Pantry, New Horizon Center, Holy Assumption Catholic Church Food Pantry, St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, Unity Lutheran Church and Ascension Lutheran Church.

Roundy’s Foundation presents the Focused on Feeding Families Tour bi-annually.
