Rockwell Automation president and chief executive officer Blake Moret has been named to the National Association of Manufacturers board of directors.

Moret was named Rockwell’s CEO earlier this year. He recently served as chairman of board for NAM’s Manufacturing Institute, helping it expand its expertise on attracting and developing manufacturing talent.

He has also been named to NAM’s 32-member executive committee.

Jay Timmons, NAM president and chief exeucitve officer, called Moret a “true leader” who would bring valuable insights to the board.

“The National Association of Manufacturers provides a unified voice for the more than 12 million men and women employed in manufacturing,” Moret said. “Millions of additional workers and their families are directly impacted by the strength of the American manufacturing economy. Our future prosperity depends on our continued ability to compete and win in the global marketplace.”
