Repairers of the Breach offers 24-hour service to homeless residents

Repairers of the Breach, a daytime shelter and resource facility for homeless residents of Milwaukee, remained open 24 hours yesterday due to dropping temperatures.

The shelter is preparing to continue its 24-hour operation through the weekend as weather forecasts predict more frigid winter weather ahead.

Last night designated the sixth consecutive night of 24-hour service at the shelter and the 10th night in 2013. Between 35 and 40 homeless men and women have rested at Repairers of the Breach each night.

The shelter is accepting donations of food, blankets, coats and boots to accommodate overnight residents at its resource facility, located at 1335 W. Vliet St. Financial donations to support costs for 24-hour services can be mailed to Repairers of the Breach, P.O. Box 13791, Milwaukee, WI 53213.
