Jackson-based Reliable Door Systems Inc. has been acquired by Reliable Door and Dock Inc., a newly formed company owned by a private investment group led by Daniel Eder.

Reliable Door and Dock will sell, install and service commercial and industrial overhead doors, high-speed doors and loading dock equipment. It has a second location in Crestwood, Ill.

Milwaukee-based investment bank Eisen Fox & Co. served as the exclusive financial advisor to Reliable Door Systems. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Reliable Door Systems president Paul Chichlowski will remain with the company for at least a year to help with the transition. Eder will serve as president of Reliable Door and Dock, which has about 20 employees.

Eder plans to hire additional employees as he grows the business, he said.

“I think that with growth, particularly in a service-based business, you have to add employees,” Eder said. “My primary goal is to continue the success of the business and grow it.”

The skilled employees were the main reason Eder acquired Reliable Door, he said.

“I was really impressed with the longevity…the skill, the reputation of the service technicians and of the staff behind the service technicians,” Eder said.

Eder previously acquired the enclosure solutions product line and contract manufacturing business of APW Mayville LLC in 2005, which became Mayville Products Corp. He sold the company in 2012.
