Press Club event to focus on the price of real estate

Some experts have reported that in 98 of the top 100 metro areas its now cheaper to buy than rent real estate.

The Milwaukee Press Club will host a Behind the Headlines event that will discuss the future of real estate prices in our area.
We Energies will host the event at its headquarters, 231 West Michigan St., on Wednesday, June 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lunch is included.
The event will include comments from the experts which include Dan Cira, vice president and manager of default servicing for retail lending at BMO Harris Bank; Judy Hearst, vice president of Wisconsin Southeast Region of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage; Mark Eppli, professor of finance and Bell Chair in Real Estate at Marquette University; and David Stiff, chief economist and vice president of quantitative research at Fiserv. Stiff directs the research and development of the company’s quantitative valuation and forecasting models for the U.S. housing market. Following comments from the panelists three Milwaukee area real estate journalists will ask the panel questions. Journalists involved include Tom Daykin, commercial real estate reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Sean Ryan, real estate reporter at The Business Journal and Andrew Weiland, managing editor and real estate reporter at BizTimes Milwaukee.
Milwaukee Press Club’s Behind the Headlines is a new quarterly program where newsmakers discuss the most pressing issues of the day. Cost to attend is $20 for Milwaukee Press Club members, $25 for non-members, $15 for students. Seating will be limited. Pre-registration and advance payment are required and may be done online at www.milwaukeepressclub.org. A photo ID is required for entry.
