Val Blazich has joined Pinnacle XL, Milwaukee, as a bookkeeper. She has more than 18 years of bookkeeping experience.

Education

Mount Mary College, Milwaukee, has announced the appointment of David Nixon, Ph.D., to the position of vice president for academic and student affairs. Nixon is currently chief executive officer/dean of the University of Wisconsin—Washington County. Previously he was the department head of and associate professor in political science at Oklahoma State University.

Wauwatosa-based Bloom Companies LLC has added Susan Paulus to its Milwaukee office as a staff engineer in the highway road design division. She has more than four years experience with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

Health Care

Rogers Memorial Hospital, Oconomowoc, has selected Dr. Michael Miller to be the medical director for the Herrington Recovery Center at the hospital. Miller is a board-certified psychiatrist an addictionologist.

Milwaukee-based Extendicare Health Services Inc. recently added new employees to its staff. They include Verna Bowman, medical review specialist in the reimbursement department; Jamie Vrba, communications assistant in the consumer relations and communications department; Jeffry Poborsky, insurance billing analyst in the accounts receivable department; and Jean Kropidlowski, secretary in the accounts receivable department.

Hospitality & Entertainment

S&L Hospitality has appointed Joy Brown, the general manager for Staybridge Suites Milwaukee West, located at Pabst Farms in Oconomowoc. Brown has nearly 15 years of experience in hotel operations, including guest service and revenue management. She was formerly the front office manager for Keylime Cove Indoor Waterpark Resort in Gurnee, Ill.

Insurance

United Heartland, New Berlin, has appointed Greg Donovan as vice president of field operations. Donovan has 38 years of insurance experience, and most recently served as the vice president of marketing at Aon Risk Services in Milwaukee.

Interior Design

Creative Business Interiors Inc., has announced that Carmen Eskra, Megan Ernst, and Rebecca Brown have all passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification exam. Successful completion of the NCIDQ examination is required for registration as a professional interior designer in the state of Wisconsin. Creative Business Interiors has offices in Milwaukee and Madison.

Manufacturing

Tom Leunig has been added to the staff at Milwaukee-based Cleaver-Brooks Packaged Boiler. He will fill the role of product manager of package water systems. Leunig has more than 15 years experience as a product manager in the water treatment industry.

Nonprofit

Mensa of Wisconsin has elected four individuals to its board of directors. They include, Ellen Voie, local secretary; Ed Carmo, deputy local secretary; Magie Brady, secretary and Rick Leichtfuss, treasurer.

Senior Living Communities

Milwaukee-based JFS Housing Inc. has hired Leshia Donaldson as the senior housing executive of the new Deerwood Crossing Senior Residences in Brown Deer. Donaldson will manage daily operations for the 66-unit senior housing facility and direct the work activity of all employees and contracted staff.

The QTI Group, Milwaukee, has added Brad Snelson, branch manager, at its West Allis location.
