Steven Fischer joined Bader Rutter & Associates, Brookfield, as digital development director. He has 14 years of professional experience with web application, business productivity, and workflow systems design, development, consultancy and training. He joins Bader Rutter from Concurrency, where he served as its web solutions architect, developer and practice lead for its SharePoint development team.

Banking & Finance

Robin Johnson has been honored as associate of the quarter by Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network. Johnson, operations manager at Rozman Wealth Management LLC in Brookfield, has been in the financial services business for more than 13 years, and has been with Rozman Wealth Management for six years.

Bank Mutual, Brown Deer, named Mark Bruss vice president of commercial banking. He will be based at Bank Mutual’s commercial banking center in Wauwatosa. He has more than 33 years of commercial banking experience.

Green Bay-based Associated Bank announced several additions and promotions to its executive and management team in metro Milwaukee. They include: Ahmad Elsawaf, senior vice president, director of sales management and support; Jean Kraus, vice president, construction project manager; Wade Weisser, vice president credit and debit card product manager; Jason Gruettner has been promoted to deposit product manager; Thad Gabron has been promoted to vice president, sales planning and analysis manager; Scott Lutzow has been named vice president, retail incentive plan manager and Clarice Young has been promoted to vice president, commercial banking sales reporting manager. Mike Talbot has been named vice president, information technology business solutions for Associated Bank’s wealth management and corporate systems; Joe Shortreed has been named vice president, construction project manager; Curt Kolell has been promoted to chief appraisal compliance officer; Jill Spielmann joined Associated’s wealth management division as vice president, personal trust relationship manager, and Mary Gunderson joined Associated’s business banking division as vice president, business banking relationship manager.

Building & Construction

J.H. Findorff & Son Inc. hired Melissa Opad as a marketing specialist in the firm’s Milwaukee office. Opad will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Milwaukee marketing strategy, project proposals and sales support material, advertising, business development support, and electronic media.

Paul Valen joined Katt Construction, Racine, as an estimator and project manager. He has experience in construction and construction management of commercial and industrial buildings. Valen most recently worked for Lake Construction in Las Vegas.

Chambers of Commerce

The Pewaukee Chamber of Commerce recently elected its 2011 board of directors. New members include: Shannon Schlitz of Hau and Associates; LaVonne Beecher of Safari Specialty Advertising; Bill Miller of Guardian Insurance and Park Avenue Securities; Mandy Pearce of Pewaukee Family Chiropractic; Kathy Oleinik of Neighborhood Welcome; Matt Titel of Commonwealth Mortgage Group; Cathy Zmudzinski of Waukesha State Bank; and Russ Roberts of WCTC Small Business Center.

Education

Katarina Midelfort joined the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) faculty as an assistant professor in the Physics and Chemistry Department. She is teaching in the BioMolecular Engineering degree program. Midelfort has done research at Pfizer Global Research and Development, EPIX Medical Inc., Carnegie Mellon, Duke University, University of Illinois and MIT. Matthew Martin has also been named manager of MSOE’s Center for Working Professionals and Graduate Studies.

Sandra Graham has been appointed dean of Alverno College’s School of Arts and Sciences.The School of Arts and Sciences is comprised of four divisions – Humanities; Arts, Communication & Technology; Behavioral Sciences; and Natural Sciences, Mathematics & Technology and is the largest of the school’s four colleges. Graham first came to Alverno in 1992 teaching, while also steering multiple committees and serving as chair of several departments.

Health Care

Milwaukee-based Dohmen Company recently hired Mark Singleton as vice president of innovation and Sue Pierman as director of marketing and communications. In addition, Sara Herbert has been hired by Restat, a division of Dohmen, as its director of client account services.

Hospitality & Entertainment

Kathleen O’Leary, marketing and communications director, for Wisconsin State Fair Park, has been awarded the certified fair executive (CFE) designation by the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE). This certification is based on a scorecard of management skills, education and leadership. O’Leary has been with the Wisconsin State Fair since 1998.

Insurance

Lisa Holzwart has been promoted to commercial lines underwriting manager at Sheboygan-based Acuity. Holzwart joined Acuity in 2001 as a commercial lines underwriter.

Pewaukee-based Integrated Risk Solutions named Becky Peraza an account manager. She has more than 20 years of extensive industry knowledge in managing commercial accounts.

Legal Services

The American Bankruptcy Institute named Milwaukee-based Godfrey & Kahn attorney Carla Andres to its central states advisory board. ABI is the largest multi-disciplinary, non-partisan organization dedicated to research and education on matters related to insolvency. ABI was founded in 1982 to provide Congress and the public with an unbiased analysis of bankruptcy issues. The ABI membership includes more than 12,000 attorneys, auctioneers, bankers, judges, lenders, professors, turnaround specialists, accountants and other bankruptcy professionals.

Milwaukee-based Von Briesen & Roper S.C. has added Mary Lee Ratzel, shareholder, and Meghan O’Connor, associate, to the firm’s Health Care Practice Group. Ratzel has nearly 30 years of experience in the areas of risk management and medical and dental malpractice defense, and O’Connor previously worked for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services where she consulted with states regarding federal health law, regulation and policy, evaluating managed care contracts and conducting compliance review.

Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan LLP, Milwaukee, has added Nathaniel Cade, Jr. as a partner. Cade has experience as a litigator with particular emphasis on product liability, professional liability and ethics, complex commercial litigation, construction law, and insurance defense.

Manufacturing

Michael Buchholz has been named network administrator for Wixon Inc., St. Francis. Prior to joining Wixon, Buchholz served as an IT administrator for Lavelle Industries in Burlington.

Marketing

Katie Felten, Milwaukee-based brand strategist and president of MKELive, was recently named community manager for New York City-based Hashable Inc. Felten will be based in Milwaukee and will be responsible for developing and managing the Hashable brand for the area. Felten also recently earned her Inbound Marketing Certification from HubSpot, which acknowledges her proficiency in inbound marketing principles and best practices including blogging, search engine optimization, social media, lead conversion, lead nurturing and closed-loop analysis.

Nonprofit

The Waukesha County Museum named Kristen Hoeker as the new director of education and programming. Hoeker previously worked as the manager of family and community programs for Heritage Museums and Gardens in Massachusetts.

Publishing

Offprice, Brookfield, a subsidiary of Tarsus Group plc of Dublin, recently hired Todd Fabos as marketing and publishing manager and Gina Laudon as buyer relations coordinator. Fabos previously worked at Celtic Inc., Brookfield, and Laudon previously worked as an account manager-new hire mentor at Marshall & IIsley Corp.

Professional Services

Milwaukee-based Patient Care promoted Clara Chavez to vice president of consumerism and Susan Reesman to director of advocacy. Reesman has been with Patient Care since 2006, and has been in the insurance industry for more than 30 years. Chavez has been with Patient Care since 2005, and has been in the insurance and human resources industry for over 15 years. Both started with Patient Care shortly after the company’s move from New Orleans to Milwaukee.

Staffing & Recruiting

Pinstripe Healthcare, a division of human resources and recruitment process outsourcing specialist Pinstripe Inc., Brookfield, has named Kristen Wright director of marketing. She has experience working in brand stewardship, marketing and communications for a provider of global workforce solutions and has developed a very sophisticated approach to marketing.

Technology

Tushaus Computer Services, Milwaukee, added Scott Madden to the company as manager of managed services and help desk services. Madden previously worked as manager of end user computing at Brookdale Senior Living.
