Milwaukee-based Madisen Maher Architects has hired Ryan Thomas as architect and project manager. Thomas has 16 years of design/build experience as a project architect.

Racine-based Johnson Bank has hired Brian Holtz as assistant vice president-branch manager at its new Mequon office, set to open by year-end. Holtz has 10 years of banking experience in Ozaukee County. He previously served as branch manager at BMO Harris Bank in Mequon.

Stantec has hired Rich Klein, Eric Pylkas and Scott Henkel for its Milwaukee environmental and community development teams. Klein is a professional engineer with more than 20 years of experience in civil engineering and water resources. He will lead teams in project management and work to grow the Milwaukee municipal engineering team. Pylkas has more than nine years of experience in the health and safety field. He will be responsible for helping clients ensure facilities meet health and safety standards. Henkel has 29 years of experience as a land surveyor. He will be providing right-of-way platting, utility and property surveys, construction staking and subdivision design for the Milwaukee community development team.

Brookfield-based Patina Solutions has hired Nisha Weyker as managing director and Roy Reinke as director of talent solutions. Weyker will focus on developing solutions to clients’ business challenges in the health care industry, working out of the firm’s Brookfield and Chicago offices. She has more than 15 years of experience in the health insurance and pharmaceutical sectors, most recently as divisional sales manager for Forest Pharmaceuticals. Reinke will work to recruit and source proven, accomplished professionals with more than 25 years of experience in their fields to serve the company’s clients. He previously served as manager, human resources and corporate recruiting, at Titus Group. Reinke has also worked as talent acquisition lead consultant for Northwestern Mutual.

The Milwaukee Jewish Federation has hired Shay Pilnik, Ph.D., as executive director of its Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center. Piknik was born and raised in Herzliya, Israel, and attended The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, McGill University in Quebec, Canada, and the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City. He holds a doctorate in modern Jewish studies and has taught at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and UW-Milwaukee.

Engineering

Milwaukee-based The Sigma Group has hired Matthew Fueston as staff engineer in its civil engineering department. Fueston is a 2014 Marquette University graduate with a bachelor’s in civil engineering.

Milwaukee-based Zerrecon Inc. has hired Matt Soiney as vice president. He will assist the firm in providing engineering services for small projects, typically commercial building inspections, structural inspections and engineering for structural changes and other modifications.

Event Planning

Brookfield-based OFFPRICE Show has hired Katy Albrecht as buyer relations coordinator. She will be responsible for increasing attendance at OFFPRICE shows, daily outreach to new and existing buyers, tracking fashion and apparel trends and coordinating hospitality arrangements for show attendees. Albrecht previously served as social media ambassador at the Teaching and Learning Center for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Health Care

Richard Canter, senior vice president of strategy and corporate affairs at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, will retire at the end of the year. He provided legal services to the Wheaton system beginning in 1976 and joined the staff as general counsel in 2005. Canter was a key player in the creation of the organization’s corporate structure and in its mergers. As he transitions to part-time this month, Julie Swiderski has been promoted to senior vice president-strategic initiatives. She will serve as a member of Wheaton’s senior management team and manage communication, public relations and marketing. Swiderski joined Wheaton in 2002 as director of government relations and was promoted to vice president in 2006. Sarah Herzog, senior vice president and general counsel, will now take on oversight of compliance and risk management in addition to her general counsel duties. She joined Wheaton in 2005 after more than 10 years of serving the system in private practice.

Insurance

Brookfield-based Diversified Insurance Solutions has named Christian Lie chief executive officer. Lie has almost 40 years of experience in insurance and risk management services, most recently as president of the risk services group at Diversified since he joined the firm in 2011. He was previously the president and CEO of Johnson Insurance in Racine.

Law

Milwaukee-based Quarles & Brady LLP has hired Leslie Tector as a partner in the health law practice group at its Milwaukee office. Tector previously served as counsel at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP. Her practice is focused on research compliance, regulatory health care and general corporate matters.

Manufacturing

Sussex IM Inc., based in Sussex, has added Megan Everson Tzanoukakis as an operational/financial specialist. Everson Tzanoukakis has a master’s degree in accounting from Marquette University and is a CPA. Prior to joining Sussex IM, she worked as an assurance senior associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for almost four years.

Waukesha-based DUECO Inc. has hired Tracey Fischer as aftermarket services coordinator. Fischer will assist in driving growth in aftermarket parts, tools and accessories. She has significant experience supporting utility equipment and related industry customers, most recently as rental assistant at Nesco LLC.

Marketing & Public Relations

Milwaukee-based Boelter + Lincoln Marketing Communications has promoted Katie Klein-Murphy to social media marketing manager. Klein-Murphy will lead the strategic development and delivery of agency social media services. She spent the past three years as a social media strategist at Boelter, and also serves as the social media analyst for WTMJ-TV Channel 4 and AM 620 WTMJ.

Milwaukee-based Vollrath Associates Inc. has promoted Julie Caan to account executive. She has served as assistant account executive at Vollrath since she joined the firm in June 2012. Caan holds a bachelor’s in public relations from Marquette University.

Nonprofit

Wauwatosa-based The Lutheran Home Foundation has named Wayne Wiertzema and Matthew Burow to its board of directors. Wiertzema is the president of Wangard, a real estate development and investment company focused on retail, office, industrial and multi-family housing. Burow is the president of Catalyst Construction, a medical and commercial office, retail, religious and education facility construction firm he started in 2004.

Real Estate

MLG Companies of Brookfield has hired Amy Herzog as associate general counsel.

Brookfield-based HSI Properties LLC has hired Tony DeRosa as executive vice president. DeRosa previously spent seven years as executive vice president at Wangard Partners Inc. He holds a bachelor’s in real estate and urban land economics from the University of Wisconsin.

Social Media

Milwaukee-based 7Summits has added Ron Gidwitz to its board of directors. Gidwitz is the co-founder of GCG Partners and the former chief executive officer of the Unilever HPC Helene Curtis business unit. He has a long history of board service, including as chairman of the Illinois State Board of Education and the Economic Development Commission of the City of Chicago.

Tourism

VISIT Milwaukee has hired Josie Hollmann as finance and administration manager. Hollmann will be responsible for managing the organization’s accounting systems and internal controls. She has more than 12 years of financial and accounting experience, previously as controller at Sikich and as assistant vice president at U.S. Bancorp Fund Services.
