Tony Coraggio recently joined Mortenson Construction’s Brookfield office as a project manager. Coraggio has worked on notable projects throughout Wisconsin including the Potawatomi Bingo Casino, Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin, and multiple renovations at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa.

Jim Palzewicz of ActionCOACH of Elm Grove, was recently awarded membership in the President’s Club of ActionCOACH.

Engineering

Milwaukee office of GRAEF recently announced that Nicholas Willick has joined the staff as a construction engineer with its Milwaukee office transportation group.

Ruekert/Mielke, Inc., Waukesha, recently announced that Jonathan Thomas has accepted the position of project engineer at the firm’s Kenosha office.

Education

James Brandt recently accepted the position of vice president of adult and graduate studies at Wisconsin Lutheran College, Wauwatosa. Brandt had been serving as administrator for the Commission on Parish Schools for the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, Milwaukee.

Health Care

Humana Inc., Louisville, Ky., recently named Joanne Szymaszek as director of sales for its large group segment in Wisconsin. Previously, Szymaszek served as a specialty benefits sales executive with Humana in Wisconsin.

Allen Cowley Jr., Ph.D., chairman and professor of physiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Wauwatosa, was recently appointed director of the cardiovascular center by Dr. Jonathan Ravdin, dean and executive vice president, effective July 1.

Hospitality & Entertainment

Winslow Mexico was recently named table games director at Potawatomi Bingo Casino in Milwaukee. Mexico most recently worked in the same capacity at Northern Lights Bingo Casino in Carter, Wis. Kaelyn Perlberg was also recently named catering operations manager at the Casino. Perlberg was most recently the director of catering at the Crowne Plaza in Wauwatosa and at the Wisconsin Expo Center. 

Legal Services

Joe Maier recently joined the law firm of O’Neil, Cannon, Hollman & DeJong S.C. (OCHD). He will assist businesses, their owners and investors with employee benefit design and ERISA issues and executive compensation planning, income tax planning surrounding the creation, operation and liquidation of business entities and the creation, formation, merger and acquisition of businesses. Attorney Timothy Caprez was also recently added to the firm as part of the law firm’s expansion of its litigation and corporate law practices.

Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, Milwaukee, recently announced that Timothy Hansen, trial lawyer and member of the firm’s litigation practice group, and Aaron Kastens, a member of the firm’s litigation practice group, have been elected to partnership. 

Mark Foley has joined von Briesen & Roper, s.c., Milwaukee, as a shareholder. He was formerly a senior litigation partner in the Milwaukee office of Foley & Lardner LLP.

Landscaping & Maintenance

Bret Achtenhagen’s Seasonal Services, Mukwonago, recently added Dave Held, production manager; and Sarah Ehrhardt, landscape designer and salesperson, to its staff. Combined they have more than 50 years experience in the landscaping industry.

Manufacturing

Wixon Inc., St Francis, recently named Karen Linck regional sales manager for industrial products. Prior to joining Wixon, Linck was a strategic account executive for Kerry Ingredients, Inc., Beloit.

Goff’s Enterprises, Inc., Pewaukee, recently announced the appointment of Marcus Mohwinkel to vice president of sales and marketing. Mohwinkel has 12 years experience with material handling and door sales.

Joe Klett recently joined Price Erecting Co., as an engineer, project manager and estimator. Klett is a recent graduate of UW-Madison’s civil engineering program.

Video Wisconsin, Inc., Brookfield, recently announced that Mark West, creative director has become a partner in the organization. West is a five-year veteran of the organization.

Mayfair Leasing, Waukesha, recently named Bob Espich business development manager. Espich has 10 years of experience in the automotive industryand four years of sales experience in the real estate industry.

Retail

Jim Sajdak, owner of Stan’s Fit for Your Feet, with locations in Brookfield, Greenfield and Glendale, was recently awarded the Al Singer Award by the National Shoe Retailers Association. The Al Singer Award recognizes the traits of independence, innovation and perseverance in retailers. The award also recognizes a quest for challenges and a love for humanity.

New York-based International Council of Shopping Centers, Inc. (ICSC) recently announced that the following members have been appointed as volunteer officers: Robert Dennik, VJS Construction Services, Pewaukee, has been appointed to the position of state government relations committee chair; Bradley Dallet, Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C., Milwaukee, has been appointed to the position of state alliance co-chair – private; and Jose Perez, City of Milwaukee, has been appointed to the position of state alliance co-chair – public. All appointments are for the 2009-10 term.
