Ocean Spray joins apprentice program

The Kenosha branch of Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. has joined the Wisconsin apprenticeship program and will enroll three new apprentices in the maintenance technician program at a ceremony at 2 p.m. today.

The Massachusetts-based cranberry product manufacturer joined the state program after experiencing difficulty in finding skilled labor.

Department of Workforce Development Secretary Reggie Newson will attend the ceremony today. The recent state budget includes about $1.8 million in funding for the apprenticeship program.
