Oak Creek Plumbing Inc. has expanded its services to include complete kitchen remodeling and has plans to open additional retail and service locations in the next five years. The company plans to open new sites in Racine and West Allis.
Oak Creek Plumbing, located at 640 E. Ryan Road, has specialized in complete bathroom remodeling for the past 15 years with the combination of its plumbing services division and its retail, design and sales division, said Dan Callies, owner of the company.
For about the past five years, Oak Creek Plumbing has offered minimal kitchen remodeling services as an extension to the company’s plumbing capabilities. The complete remodel offering became available with the hiring of kitchen designer Rob Christiansen three months ago, Callies said.
Callies plans to add three kitchen displays in addition to the current display in Oak Creek Plumbing’s 2,000-square-foot showroom. The showroom offers design ideas for bathroom and kitchen fixtures, tiling, acrylic bathtub and shower wall liners, shower stalls, cabinets, sinks, countertops and hardware. The showroom also features functional toilets, sinks, showers and bathtubs.
Oak Creek Plumbing was founded by Callies’ father, Ronald, in 1972 as a plumbing company focused on residential and commercial new construction. Callies joined his father’s company in 1985.
In 1992, Oak Creek Plumbing added acrylic tub and shower liners to their service line and slowly added to their expertise offering complete bathroom and kitchen remodeling services. For the past 10 years, Oak Creek Plumbing has experienced double-digit growth in revenue every year, Callies said.
In 2006, the company had $4 million in revenue. Callies expects to have $5 million in revenue by next year.
Oak Creek Plumbing currently has 26 employees.
Oak Creek Plumbing can perform all of the services necessary for complete bathroom and kitchen remodels.
“We work that way so that we can control the project, we can control the quality of the installation, the quality of the materials and the schedule,” Callies said.
About 95 percent of Oak Creek Plumbing’s work is for residential customers. Oak Creek Plumbing typically works with customers who want to utilize smaller spaces in older homes and want the best-value products for their dollar, Callies said.
“(Kitchen and bath remodeling) was a natural extension of our business as we sought to help our customers put back beauty and function into their homes and offices without wiping out their entire budget for the project,” Callies said.
