The Northwestern Mutual Foundation recently awarded $750,000 in grants to 10 Milwaukee organizations and venues that enhance quality of life for visitors and residents.
The funds are supporting programs that draw visitors to southeastern Wisconsin, attract and retain residents and employees, and promote educational and enrichment experiences, according to an announcement from the foundation.
“Each year, millions of visitors travel to Milwaukee to enjoy some of the best arts, entertainment and educational opportunities the country has to offer,” said John Kordsmeier, president of Northwestern Mutual Foundation. “These grants ensure visitors, community residents and our employees have engaging and memorable experiences.”
Destination grant recipients are Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin, the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Zoological Society of Milwaukee County, Friends of Schlitz Audubon Center Inc., the Brewers Community Foundation, Milwaukee World Festival Inc., Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, the Milwaukee Public Library Foundation, and the Milwaukee Public Museum.
The Northwestern Mutual Foundation represents the philanthropic arm of Milwaukee-based Northwestern Mutual and has donated more than $250 million in the past 22 years.
