*Sunday, Nov. 3, the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) will open its 2013-14 season with its 2013 Playathon. The series of free concerts, presented by Bayshore Community Foundation, will feature music played by 24 MYSO groups, including two full symphony orchestra, three large string orchestras, a wind ensemble, two flute choirs, two beginning string groups, 12 jazz combos and two steel drum bands. The event, which is open to the public, will also feature a raffle to raise funds for MYSO’s music programs. Performances will run from 10:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Rotunda and Great Hall of Bayshore Town Center, located at 5800 N. Bayshore Dr. in Glendale. For more information, visit www.myso.org.

*Wednesday, Nov. 6, the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) Greater Milwaukee Chapter will hold a presentation and panel discussion on “The Multi-Cultural, Multi-Generational Nonprofit.” The panel will cover the basics of effectively managing a multi-cultural, multi-generational staff as well as best practices for engagement, development and retention of future leaders. The panel, which is part of a Racism & Generations series presented by YNPN and the Southeastern Wisconsin Intergenerational-Interracial Community Connection, will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the American Red Cross, located at 2600 W. Wisconsin Ave. in Milwaukee. Cost to attend is $15 for Nonprofit Center members, YNPN members, and CDBG agencies. Cost is $20 for non-members. *Thursday, Nov. 7, Target Free First Thursday will grant free admission to visitors at the Milwaukee Art Museum, located at 700 N. Art Museum Dr. in Milwaukee. *Thursday, Nov. 7, the 5th annual “Chairity” Luncheon titled “Pull Up a Chair in Your Neighborhood” will benefit the Neighborhood Outreach Program of Interfaith Older Adult Programs, Inc. The luncheon will include a live auction with hand-painted chairs, a silent auction, wine pull, basket drawing and more. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Clarion Hotel – Airport, located at 5311 S. Howell Ave. in Milwaukee. Cost for individuals to attend is $35. *Friday, Nov. 8, ArtWorks for Milwaukee will hold its annual benefit to raise funds for its 2014 internship program, which pays teenage interns who are facing barriers to employment to complete an art project and teaches them soft work skills along the way. The event, themed “Night by the River,” will include hors d’oeuvres as well as samples of craft beer, fine wines and cocktails. It will also feature live and silent auctions with donated items and services from area businesses along with original artwork from program interns. Event organizers hope to draw at least 400 people to the fundraiser. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and will be held at the City Center at 735, located at 735 N. Water St. in Milwaukee. *Saturday, Nov. 9, Guitars for Vets (G4V) in partnership with the Harley Davidson Museum will hold a benefit concert titled “Rock The Rumble” to raise funds for G4V as well as awareness around its nonprofit mission to provide free guitars and music lessons to military veterans. The event will run from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Harley Davidson Rumble Room, located at the museum at 400 W. Canal St. in Milwaukee.
