*Saturday, July 20, the Layton Boulevard West Neighborhood will celebrate the opening of Three Bridges Park, a 24-acre park located in Menomonee Valley between the 27th Street and 35th Street Viaducts. The family-friendly event will include bike rides, fishing, kayak and canoe demonstrations, onsite food trucks and live music performed by De La Buena. The celebration, which is open to the public, will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with park dedications slated for 10 a.m. For more information, visit www.renewthevalley.org.

*Tuesday, July 23, BoardStar Inc. will hold a Board Diversity Webinar for nonprofit directors and senior executives interested in learning how diversity enhances board operations. The hour-long Webinar will also address ways to increase board diversity. The Webinar is scheduled to start at 12:15 p.m. Cost is $35 for BoardStar members and $50 for non-members. *Wednesday, July 24, the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee will host a Planners and Grant Writers 2013 Networking Roundtables Series focused on ideas for crisis mode fundraising. The event will highlight ways to deal with a financial emergency, raise emergency funds quickly, and prevent a financial crisis altogether. The information session will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, located at 101 W. Pleasant St. in Milwaukee. *Thursday, July 25, IndependenceFirst will hold an information session titled “Transit 101: Transportation Session for People with Disabilities.” The free event will teach people with disabilities and their families about Transit Plus and the Milwaukee County Transit System. Attendees will learn specifically about the Transportation and the Americans with Disabilities Act, Transit Plus Eligibility, Fixed Route Accessibility, and Rights and Responsibilities.
