*Friday, Aug. 1, Newaukee will present the fourth annual “Urban Island Beach Party” at Lakeshore State Park along Milwaukee’s lakefront. The event, free and open to the public, will feature a spectrum of entertainment and activities, from live music to pineapple smashing, a rock climbing wall, and hula hooping and limbo contests. The party will also feature a nonprofit village of area organizations presenting their missions, more than 20 area food trucks onsite and a “Find A Flamingo” contest in which attendees who find fake pink flamingos hidden by Newaukee in the city can get a free beer upon returning their flamingo at the party. *Thursday, Aug. 7, the Milwaukee Art Museum will grant free admission to family and individual visitors, thanks to the support of Target. The music will run from 6 to 9 p.m. with a Happy Hour starting at 5 p.m. Jazz in the Park, presented by Boston Store and Columbia St. Mary’s, is held each Thursday in Cathedral Square Park in downtown Milwaukee through Sept. 4. *Wednesday, Aug. 20, Women’s FOCUS, Inc.’s meeting will feature speaker Dr. Terry Ziegler, a chiropractor and partner with the Grafton Chiropractic Center. The August program covers the theme “The Anti-inflammatory Lifestyle” and will largely focus on “busting myths” while exploring aspects of health and nutrition, according to Women’s FOCUS. Ziegler has more than 30 years of experience in the chiropractic discipline of medicine.
