*Tuesday, May 5, the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network’s Greater Milwaukee Chapter will hold its May Nonprofit Resource Exchange. The event is part of a series that provides participants a forum to share resources, talk through challenges and brainstorm solutions with nonprofit peers. Exchange events are held every other month. The May event will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Teach for America, located at 700 W. Virginia, Suite 610, in Milwaukee. *Thursday, May 7, Layton Boulevard West Neighbors and the Silver City Neighborhood will present the 8th annual Mining for Silver Dinner and Auction. The evening will feature a dinner and program highlighting successful revitalization efforts and upcoming projects in Silver City neighborhoods. The event will also include silent and live auctions, raffles and games. The event will run from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Tripoli Shrine Center, located at 3000 W. Wisconsin Ave. in Milwaukee. Individual tickets cost $65, and proceeds will go right back into the neighborhoods’ revitalization work. For more information, click here.   

*Saturday, May 9, Milwaukee’s Finest honoree Deborah Ladd from Cohen Fund Audit Services will hold a skeeball tournament at G-Daddy’s BBC Bar & Grill, located at 2022 E. North Ave. in Milwaukee. Milwaukee’s Finest is a fundraising campaign put on by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Wisconsin Chapter. The campaign challenges young professionals from the region to raise funds toward CFF’s research of cystic fibrosis and support services for families impacted by the disease. Ladd’s tournament will run from 1 to 5 p.m. Event proceeds will benefit Ladd’s Milwaukee’s Finest fundraising efforts. For more information on the tournament, contact Ladd at dladd@cohenfund.com.

*Tuesday, May 12, the Milwaukee Center for Independence will hold a health care job fair to recruit candidates for a number of positions, including registered nurses and licensed practical nurses. Other available positions include certified nursing assistants, licensed clinical therapists, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and certified medical assistants. MCFI is a nonprofit agency that helps individuals with disabilities live and work independently. The organization’s job fair will run from 4 to 7 p.m. at its offices, located at 2020 W. *Wednesday, May 13, the Workforce Development Center of Waukesha County will host a Spring Job Fair. The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Waukesha County Technical College Gymnasium, 800 Main St. in Pewaukee. More than 120 area employers will be at the fair, which is free and open to the public. Represented industries include customer service, health care, hospitality, information technology, logistics, manufacturing, sales and more. Job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally and bring copies of their resumes to the job fair.

*Thursday, May 14, the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee will offer a workshop to equip individuals with the tools and expertise they need to launch a viable nonprofit organization. The workshop, titled “To Be or Not to Be,” will coach attendees on how to gauge if they are ready to start a nonprofit and will give them more information on fiscal accountability, board development, fundraising and other critical elements of nonprofit operations. The information session will be led by Joyce Mallory, organizational development consultant at the Nonprofit Center. The workshop will run from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Nonprofit Center, located at 2819 W. *Thursday, May 14, Milwaukee’s Finest honoree Mike Lauber from Ernst & Young LLP will hold a dinner fundraiser at The Garden, located at 725 N. Milwaukee Street in Milwaukee. The event will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with cocktails and networking, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $80. Event proceeds will support Lauber’s fundraising push as a member of the 2015 class of Milwaukee’s Finest. For more information on the dinner, click here.
