New hires and promotions

The Medical College of Wisconsin has recruited two key research faculty members to the MCW Cancer Center. Both appointments are effective July 1.

Dr. Hallgeir Rui will hold the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse Inc. endowed Chair in Breast Cancer Research. He will build on existing MCW expertise and research activities to build a core interdisciplinary team of researchers who will conduct a wide spectrum of breast cancer research. Rui is currently a professor and vice chair of cancer biology and scientific director of the Jefferson Breast Care Center at the Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

Dr. Marja Nevalainen is joining MCW as a professor of pathology and the MCW Cancer Center’s associate director of education. Nevalainen currently is associate professor of cancer biology and vice chair of education at the Kimmel Cancer Center. Her work is focused on developing effective pharmacological therapies for advanced cases of prostate cancer.

Brookfield-based Integrated Health Network of Wisconsin has hired Andrew Crisp as director of data analytics and Marcel Tetzlaff as director of program implementation.

Crisp is responsible for overseeing the processes and staff that develop and maintain IHN’s advanced data reporting functions. His experience includes 19 years of leadership in health care finance and information/data systems, having served most recently as director of payer analytics for 21st Century Oncology, the largest provider of radiation oncology services in the United States.

Tetzlaff leads the team that manages IHN’s Medicare Advantage initiatives with Humana, United Health Care and other health benefit program providers. Tetzlaff is an insurance and managed care executive with more than 18 years of experience, serving most recently as regional vice president of provider networks for DentaQuest, a leading national dental benefits administrator.

Integrated Health Network of Wisconsin is a clinically integrated network of major health systems, hospitals and physicians. Its current members are Agnesian HealthCare, Columbia St. Mary’s, Froedtert Health, the Medical College of Wisconsin, Hospital Sisters Health System, Ministry Health Care, SSM Health and Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.

Brookfield-based Connecture Inc., a provider of web-based information systems used to create health insurance marketplaces, has hired Steve Cohen as vice president of sales for Connecture’s On Ramp product.

In his role, he will oversee sales teams serving customers for On Ramp – a secure online benefits marketplace. Cohen brings more than 25 years of sales management experience working in the fields of health insurance, human resources and employee benefits to the company. He previously served as senior vice president of sales at BenefitMall, a provider of employee benefits, human resources and payroll products and services.
