Learn more about:

Fashion students at Mount Mary College will present their annual designer fashion show, “Rapture” on Friday, May 7 in Kostka Theater, 2900 N. Menomonee River Parkway. Show times are: 1:30, 5:30, and 8:00 p.m.  The designs were completed during the 2009-2010 academic year by 50 student designers majoring in apparel product development. There are more than 100 garments in the show that reflect the creative process of each designer.
Junior and senior designers will present their body of work as a collection enhanced by on-screen images of the work in progress and design details or illustrations. Commentary will give the audience insight into the designer’s philosophy. "Rapture" is dedicated to the memory of designer, Charles Kleibacker, "master of the bias cut" who passed away in January of this year. Kleibacker served as a design consultant for Mount Mary’s couture construction class from 1967 to 2007.
An independent jury of fashion design professionals have reviewed the garments and have selected award recipients which will be announced after the show. This year’s jury members included: Peter Carman, Director of the Paris American Academy, Paris, France, Heather Van Helvoort, Senior Designer, Kohl’s Department Stores, Patrice Henderson-Glad, Group Manager – Global Fit Standards, Target Corporation and Mount Mary Fashion alumna from 1985 and Linda Ott, Senior Designer, The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc.Ticket prices are $18 for the matinee and early evening shows and $25 for the evening show and wine reception following.
