The Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce will present a conference devoted to improving education in Milwaukee on Wednesday, March 14.
“When Education Works, So Does Milwaukee” will be the theme of the conference, which will feature Milwaukee Public Schools Superintendent Gregory Thornton, along with Henry Tyson, representing choice schools, and Ricardo Diaz from the Milwaukee Charter School Association.
The event will take place from7:30 to 9 a.m. at the University Club in downtown Milwaukee.
“We continue to hear from our members that without improvements in education, metro Milwaukee employers will not have the people needed to fill the jobs – white collar or blue collar – in the very near future,” said Julie Granger, vice president of the MMAC.
This event is the first of a two-part series, with a second briefing on specific, innovative schools to be held on Wednesday, May 9.
