Milwaukee Truck Sales to establish downtown HQ

Truck dealership firm The Kriete Group, which does business as Milwaukee Truck Sales Inc., plans to consolidate the business operations of its stores in Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, Fond du Lac and Racine into an historic downtown Milwaukee building.

Roger Kriete, the chairman of the firm, has owned the four-story, 13,440-square-foot building at 612 N. Broadway, which was constructed in 1895, for 20 to 25 years. Renovations are underway to create an office space for his firm on the second floor of the building. Milwaukee Truck Sales plans to move its headquarters into the building in January and will initially have 10 employees there, Kriete said.

“Each (of the firm’s five stores) has been operating independently,” he said. “We want to consolidate it to one corporate head of business operations.”

Kriete is seeking a $280,000 loan from the the Milwaukee Economic Development Corp. for the $1 million renovation project. The MEDC Loan and Finance Committee will review the request on Tuesday. The primary lender for the project is Associated Bank.
