The Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis area saw a 33.5 percent increase in manufacturing jobs over the same time period last year, the report said.

Other cities that experienced high manufacturing growth are San Francisco with a 26.5 percent increase and Dallas with a 16.7 percent increase. Chicago and New York also showed double-digit growth.

Job growth was highest in the areas of electronic computer manufacturing (a 24.4 percent increase), soft drink manufacturing (16.1 percent) and surgical and medical instrument manufacturing (12.9 percent).
