Milwaukee lawmakers draw primary challengers

Eight Milwaukee legislators are among the incumbent state lawmakers likely to face primary challenges following Tuesday’s filing deadline for the fall elections.
Milwaukee County Supervisor Chris Larson will be the only Senate primary challenger in the state after filing signatures to take on Democratic Sen. Jeff Plale of South Milwaukee. Seven other area state representatives will also have to defend their seats in September, including Milwaukee Dems Peggy Krusick, Leon Young and Barbara Toles.
Outside the city limits, Assembly incumbents facing primary challenges include Pat Strachota, R-West Bend, Robert Turner, D-Racine, Jeff Stone, R-Greendale, and Don Pridemore, R-Hartland, who will face two apparent primary rivals in former Hartford Mayor Scott Henke and former Sussex Trustee James Batzko.
