Milwaukee cab company installs rear seat credit card machines

Organizations:

Milwaukee taxi cab riders have a new way to pay for their rides, as American United Taxi Company has been working over the past five months to install rear-seat credit card machines in all American United and All City Veteran taxicabs affiliated with the company’s dispatch service.

Upon entering the cab, customers are greeted by the new high-tech machines with information on the cab’s number and driver’s name. Customers can monitor the cost of the fare during the ride. Upon completion of the ride, customers are able to pay with the credit card of their choice by swiping the card.

Customer privacy and security is enhanced since customers no longer need to give their credit card to the driver. Drivers no longer need to fill out hand-written credit card forms and wait for approval codes.

“We are proud to be the first taxi company in Milwaukee to install these new customer-friendly payment devices in our taxicabs. American United continues to be the industry leader in passenger convenience, safety and privacy,” said company vice president Red Christensen.

American United is Milwaukee’s largest taxi cab service.
