Milwaukee-area CEOS collaborate to make an impact in cancer fight

The Wisconsin Chapter of the CEOs Against Cancer is looking to add chief executive officers of Wisconsin-based companies and organizations to its group. A nationwide American Cancer Society volunteer forum, CEOS Against Cancer is a group of executives committed to saving lives and improving their company’s bottom line.

“I believe that corporate leaders have an important role to play in promoting health in their employees,” said Larry Schreiber, president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Wisconsin, who serves as chair of the Wisconsin Chapter. “Our talent is our greatest asset and encouraging healthy habits–such as physical activity, healthy eating and preventative care–is an exciting way we can improve people’s lives and take on cancer. It is a true honor to lead a group of CEOs who are championing these efforts at their companies.”

Schreiber and his CEOs Against Cancer-Wisconsin Chapter colleagues collaborate on a variety of health-focused issues facing working professionals from diverse industries across the state. Schreiber is directing the chapter, gathering corporate executives’ unique insights to address cancer’s impact on the workforce, and supporting the American Cancer Society’s work to help companies improve employee health, boost workplace productivity and reduce health care costs.
