What does your daily or weekly fitness regime consist of? My current fitness regime consists of Aqua Fit, walk/run interval, walk and meditation. I also try to get to the beach weekly weather permitting. In addition to my workouts I have also been eating cleaner, meaning not eating foods that contain high fructose corn syrup, wheat gluten, chemicals, or that have been genetically modified. I also include weekly chiropractic treatment for wellness.

What fitness clubs do you belong to, if any? I teach Aqua Fit classes at LA Fitness

Other than the obvious health benefits, how has being fit improved your life? Being fit has made me happier, allowed me to have more energy, given more confident and made me stronger and resistant to illness.

How does personal fitness affect your work life? Working out helps me focus in the moment. It helps me let off steam in a positive way. Gives me greater endurance, increasing creativity, productivity and focus in my work.

How does fitness or wellness affect your overall organization? Reduces stress, increases energy and resistance to illness which equates to a more creative, productive profitable business.

What advice do you have for other executives interested in starting either a personal fitness plan or corporate wellness initiative?

  1. Motivate employees to take responsibility for their health. Make fitness/wellness easily accessible for your employees. If possible, offer wellness services on site, making it more convenient for employees to schedule care.
  2. Educate employees by bringing in health professionals for Lunch & Learns. Have contests make it fun.
  3. Lead by example
