The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts has signed a new, eight-year agreement with Broadway Across America to continue featuring Broadway productions at the Marcus Center.
The Marcus Center, located at 929 N. Water St. in Milwaukee, has presented more than 1,000 Broadway shows to more than 1.6 visitors over 17 years.
“We are so thrilled to extend our long-term relationship with Broadway Across America,” said Paul Mathews, Marcus Center president and chief executive officer. “Their access to the best, shows, their close relationships with Broadway producers, as well as investments in new shows, gives us a clear advantage in booking the shows our patrons want to see.”
Under the recent agreement, the Marcus Center will be able to present some of the newest and most popular Broadway productions touring the country.
Profits generated from both ticket sales and facility fees contribute to the maintenance of the Marcus Center structure, so revenue from Broadway shows will benefit nonprofit groups like the Milwaukee Symphony and the Milwaukee Ballet that consistently perform at the center.
“We are proud to continue our successful relationship with the Marcus Center and look forward to bringing the best of Broadway direct from New York to Milwaukee,” said Lauren Reid, Broadway Across America president of the theater division.
