Krajniak to retire from Discovery World

Organizations:

After a 32-year career with Discovery World, Executive Director Paul Krajniak will retire at the end of 2014, the innovation center has announced.

“On behalf of the entire Discover World organization, I thank Paul for his vision, creativity, and his commitment to Discovery World,” said Joel Brennan, president and chief executive officer of Discovery World. “Under Paul’s leadership, we launched world-class exhibits like the Johnson Controls Techno Jungle, the Rockwell Automation Dream Machine and Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District’s City of Freshwater. In addition, Paul helped create innovative techniques to teach and inspire creativity in the next generation of leaders. We wish Paul every happiness and success in the future.”

According to Krajniak, his proudest accomplishments during his tenure at Discovery World include helping develop “Les Paul’s House of Sound,” the “Kohl’s Design-It! Lab,” and the “MillerCoors THIRST Freshwater Innovation Lab.”

“My time at Discovery World was rewarding beyond imagination, and I will miss the tremendous people I was able to collaborate with more than words can express,” Krajniak said.

In the next chapter of his career, Krajniak plans to focus on significant education problems he believes “are key to improving lives and communities,” he said.

In the coming year, as he prepares to move on from Discovery World, he will focus on an independent research track while assisting the innovation center with the transition in leadership.
