Kohl’s buys 6 acres near HQ

Organizations:

Menomonee Falls-based Kohl’s Corp. recently purchased a vacant 6 acre site on Davian Drive in Menomonee Falls for $1.25 million, according to state records.

The property was sold by Kwarciany Development Co., an affiliate of Davians Banquet and Conference Center.

The property is located near Kohl’s corporate headquarters at N56 W17000 Ridgewood Dr. and the 300,000-square-foot former InnoWare Paper Company building at W165 N5830 Ridgewood Dr., which Kohl’s bought recently for $15.2 million.

Kohl’s announced in November that it had dropped its plans to build a new 900,000-square-foot corporate headquarters campus in the Woodland Prime Office Park in Menomonee Falls and instead planned to expand by purchasing the former InnoWare building, located in the Silver Spring Corporate Park and directory across the street from Kohl’s current headquarters. The former InnoWare building will be converted into a corporate facility for Kohl’s IT workers.

Kohl’s also recently purchased the 28,000-square-foot former ProHealth Care medical building at W165 N5595 Creekwood Crossing, located across Silver Spring Drive from Silver Spring Corporate Park. The ProHealth Care building will house an employee wellness center and fitness facility. The company will use its current wellness center, a 24,000-square-foot facility located at W165 N5800 Ridgewood Dr., as a childcare center.

Kohl’s has not submitted any plans for the 6-acre site to the village, said assistant community development director Matt Dorner.

However, the site was included in a designated corporate campus area for Kohl’s that was recently approved by the village board. The Kohl’s corporate campus area includes the main headquarters building, the former InnoWare building, its current wellness center building and the 6-acre site.
