Company address: 20825 Swenson Dr. Suite 150, Waukesha, WI  53186
Company Web site: www.traveleisure.net
Industry: Travel agency
Number of employees: Three professional travel consultants
Family: Husband, Robert Cavallo, and son, Nick Cavallo

What was the smartest thing your company did in the past year?

“Increased group sales to recreational clubs and professional membership organizations.  Traveleisure now books the majority of group travel programs sponsored by the Wisconsin Club.”

What’s new at your company?

“What is interesting about serving our travel customers is that there is something new happening every day. We’ve become very responsive in the lost-and-found category, recently recovering a client’s expensive jewelry that was left at an airport security point.  We continually are one of the first to know about what properties and airlines are doing around the world, so our clients can rely on us as a ‘no charge’ educational and consultative resource for their business and recreational travel. The year 2007 is the 100-year anniversary for Traveleisure, Inc. It was founded in 1907 and believed to be the earliest known and continuously operating travel agency serving the greater Milwaukee community.”

Do you plan to hire any additional staff or make any significant capital investments in your company in the next year?

“With our continued increase in business, we will likely add another agent.”

What will be your company’s main challenges in the next year?

“We will continue to prove that our personal touch and our responsive agents deliver peace of mind to our clients because we truly care about their experience.”

What’s the hottest trend in your industry?

“Destination weddings. I have a group of 45 departing tomorrow for their wedding in the Riviera Maya. Traveleisure manages the entire event from the moment the bride and groom begin their planning, to locating the romantic setting for their wedding vows, on through to their magnificent honeymoon; including the entire travel and vacation experience for their wedding party.”

Do you have a business mantra?

“We’ve got your ticket!”

From a business standpoint, who do you look up to?

“George Dalton, chief executive officer of NOVO 1, whom I have known since 1974.  George knows people make the difference, and his philosophy towards keeping service first for the customer has influenced me for many years.”

What was the best advice you ever received?

“Never give an ultimatum.”

What’s the funniest thing that ever happened to you in your career?

“I planned my nephew’s wedding at the El Dorado Seaside Hotel. When I checked in with my sister, they didn’t have a reservation for me. We had to stay next door at the Hidden Beach Resort, at an Au Naturel Club. Needless to say, we had to look up a lot during our stay.”

What do you like to do in your free time?

“I enjoy drawing and taking long walks with my yellow lab, Mandy.”
