Get a head start on the weekend with the BizTimes Bubbler

  • Friday, Jan. 13 through Sunday, Jan. 15 The Big Chill, the ice and snow festival in Racine. The Big Chill will bring 17 of the state’s best two-person snow sculpting teams to Downtown Racine’s Monument Square. The sculptors will be compete for cash prizes, as well as the title of Wisconsin State Snow Sculpting Champions.  The Big Chill is Wisconsin’s only state-sanctioned snow sculpting competition, and the winning team will advance to the U.S. National Competition in Lake Geneva in February 2013.  The snow sculpting competition gets underway at 4 p.m. on Friday.  The event will also feature 12 local and regional ice carvers working throughout downtown Racine. Vistiors are encouraged to vote for their favorite. Horse and carriage rides, refreshments and a visit from the Door County Dog Sled team are also scheduled for the weekend.   • Saturday, Jan. 14 Milwaukee Admirals will take on the Texas Stars in a home match at the Bradley Center that begins at 7 p.m. For tickets, visit www.milwaukeeadmirals.com

  • Sunday, Jan. 15 Milwaukee Admirals will face off against the Lake Erie Monsters at the Bradley Center beginning at 3 p.m. For tickets, visit www.milwaukeeadmirals.com
  • Sunday, Jan. 15 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Birthday Celebration will be held at the Marcus Center, 929 N. Water St. from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost to attend is free.
